Brave Spaces takes a collaborative approach in building capacities in the social services sector. We conduct training for social service organisations and professionals, improving sensitivities and capabilities in engaging women of intersectional identities.

We are also constantly reviewing our programmes to ensure they remain updated, comprehensive, integrated and sensitive to the needs and daily realities of these women.

One major aspect of the training focuses on social service provider handling of LBTQ (lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer) women in need. From an intersectional perspective, Brave Spaces understands that issues faced by women in finance, domestic/familial life, education and professional work may be compounded by gender identity and sexual orientation. Because of prevailing lack of knowledge, invisibilisation of LBTQ women and lack of state support, there is a lot of room for improvement of social service providers.
